Today, July 3, marks what would’ve been my mom’s 93rd birthday, two years since she passed. Mom was a very nurturing and attentive to us 3 daughters, of whom I am the oldest. I credit her for many of my own fine qualities, thanks to our upbringing. Mom was a lot of fun with her silly sense of humor. Here’s a picture of us at the mall in 2016 when she was a pretty darn spry 86-year-old. I could always count on her to pick up the phone and attentively listen to the latest events of my life. I would often call when I was on a road trip. I also came to form a relationship with Oro Valley. I love walking in the desert when it’s cool. I am so glad that she loved living in the desert, which really helped her allergies. She also forged loving relationship with extended family members and friends. Mom was introverted and also enjoyed her own company, never complaining of boredom or loneliness. I am so glad that she died as she wanted to: at home, without dementia and quickly. I love you Mom!! Our heartfelt condolences on the passing of your dear mother. Nann was such a good friend of my mother Anne Vance and became a very good friend to us. She was the one you wanted to sit next to at a dinner party! Lively conversation. Lots of laughs. She was a beautiful woman, both inside and out. Another friend and I took her to lunch in March 2020, just before the Covid lockdown. We had hoped to meet again for her 90th birthday in July, but alas, that was not possible. Your tribute to your mother is lovely. So glad that you could be with her in her final days. Our love and sympathy, Vicki and Allen Stanton
