Obituary of Otto Farbaky
Otto Farbaky, 83, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 6, 2019, at home with his wife, Hildegard (Zivny), at his side. He was born in Burgenland, Austria on January 11, 1935 to Ludwig and Theresia (Hodits) Farbaky. Otto was a gifted carpenter and violin maker. He married Hildegard on June 1, 1956 and, together, they had four children, Renate, Walter, Christa, and Brigitte. The family immigrated to the United States in 1965 and they lived in Chicago, Illinois where Otto worked at M&M/Mars for 22 years before retiring in 1991 to Savanna, Illinois. Otto and Hildegard then moved to Tucson, Arizona in 2017. Otto was preceded in death by his parents, Ludwig and Theresia, and his first-born daughter, Renate. Otto is survived by his wife of 62 years, Hildegard and his children, Walter (Jane), Christa Bryant, and Brigitte Lybeck (Keith). Otto will also be fondly remembered by his seven grandchildren, Walter Jr. (Crystal), David (Shauna), Daniel Callahan (Kristen), Renate Holman (Brian), Nicole Chamberlain (Jason), Tylor de Rais (Natalie), and Susan. He is also survived by his 11 great grandchildren, Alyssa, Nicholas, Anthony, Arianna, Paige Callahan, Owen Holman, Daniel Jr. Callahan, Avery, Alexander Callahan, Cora Holman, and George Chamberlain. Otto will be remembered lovingly by his sister, Maria Horvath (Franz).
A memorial for immediate family will be held on January 11, 2019 at 10 am at Adair Funeral Home. A mass will be held in Tucson, AZ (date & location to be announced). A public celebration of life will be held in Illinois (date & location to be announced).
