It was maybe a year ago, before George was born, that Jason and I were over at Oma and Opa’s house and we were talking about Opa’s home village of Schachendorf. He was so excited in telling us about his childhood, and while he was talking Jason used Apple Maps to pull up the village and Opa took us on a virtual tour of his home town. After we were done with that we went on YouTube and were watching videos with traditional songs, all of which Opa sang along with quite merrily (and taking shots of slivovitz). It was such a nice visit and I know both Jason and I loved being able to share all that with him. We miss him so much already, and are just so thankful that George got to spend so much time with his Opa. With Love, Jason, Nicole, & George
