I met Jon in Vietnam in 1971 and we became very good friends during our tour. We spent many hours together doing what we could to get through a difficult situation. After we returned home in Feb '72, I traveled to Phoenix and was fortunate enough to spend time with Jon's wonderful family. After a few days in Phoenix, Jon and I hitchhiked from Phoenix to Denver together, another wonderful bonding experience. I know his family will miss him greatly and I'll always have the memories of our time together in Southeast Asia.
