Obituary of Joan Teresa Romano

Joan Teresa Romano 86, has returned to our Lord 08/07/2018 after a short illness. Born February 8, 1932 to James and Camille Pastore in the Bronx, New York. She met and married Nicholas C. Romano May 08, 1953. They have 4 children, 9 grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren. She is survived by Husband Nicholas C Romano, Children: Michael (Kathy, 4 children, Tracy, Michael Jr. (Paula, 3 children, Chloe, Grace and Giana), Peter (Courtney), and Anthony, Mary (Susie), Amy Darcy (Tom, and 2 Boys Jameson and Keaton), Nicholas (3 children, Isabella, Gabriela, Nico). Joan will be missed by many extended family members and friends. They lived in Poughkeepsie, NY until 1966 when they moved to Longmont, Colorado and raised their children until 1978 when they moved to Tucson, Arizona and have lived in Tucson ever since. Nicholas worked for IBM and Joan worked for Sabino High school until they retired in 1984. Both Joan and Nick were very family oriented and were always there for all of their children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. They vacationed in Rocky Point, Mexico frequently, with family and friends. Joan was a very strong woman who took care of her family, she was a great cook, always entertaining, sewing, knitting and crocheting, playing cards and Mahjong. Joan and Nick have been parishioners of St. Pius X Catholic Church since 1978. Both were very active with many church activities, and were lay ministers. Joan was especially active in the St. Pius Boutique for many years. Both Mom and Dad have many friends at St. Pius X. Joan was a very loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend to all. She had a great sense of humor right up until the end. She was a very strong caring person and she took care of Dad every day that she could. In Lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Pius X Catholic Church.
