I cannot put into words how much Andy meant to me, both professionally and personally. I had the great opportunity to teach systems architecture with Andy in the Johns Hopkins Systems Engineering program. Andy was not only a great engineer, but also a great teacher and mentor to not only the students, but also to me. He told the best stories! Later, we shared our cancer journeys... victories and challenges. Finally, he shared his excitement at the birth of his grandson. Andy was a great friend from the moment I met him 4 years ago and I will miss him so much! My thoughts and prayers are with you all!
