My Mother is Leona (Ruesch) Shirek. She is Gerts 1st cousin. They both have seen the year 105 in their lives. on a visit in 2012 my wife Luci and i had the opportunity to visit with Gert and her brother Ed in Oro Valley. That scheduled 15 minute visit turned into a full afternoon of delight and was the highlight of our Arizona visit. We are thankful to have some of those Huser Genes in our family and are sure Gert is enlivening the party up in heaven.
