Obituary of Brian Ashby

Brian Ashby was born on August 1, 1953 and is survived by his mother Marly, brother Brad and nephews Scott and Bennett, with hundreds of friends who consider Brian to be their brother. Brian was loved by many. He earned respect from others from being true to his nature, fair and a honest friend. Always there if you needed him. Brian came to Tucson from Iowa in the 70's, living on Mt. Lemmon and working at the Mt. Lemmon Sawmill for years. He moved from Mt. Lemmon to Tucson in the 80's and worked for Pearce Beverage Company and Clear Channel (Eller) Outdoor Advertising before retiring on his 62nd birthday on August 1, 2015. The position he loved the most was being the Director of Ski School for Mt. Lemmon Ski Valley for nearly 40 years having taught thousands of people how to ski. Besides being an avid skier, horseback rider, and golfer, near the end of his life he found his true love of being the lead singer in his band, Mainstreet. Known as a skilled an intuitive musician among his avid listeners, Mainstreet Band has lost a key member. He will be deeply missed by his friends, family and all who knew him. A celebration of Brian's life will take place at Mt. Lemmon Ski Valley on Monday, June 6th from 2 to 4 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his honor to help support his beloved mother through her golden years, here in Tucson.
