Obituary of Gertrude Kipps

KIPPS, Gertrude "Trudi" passed away on the afternoon of March 8, 2016 after a long struggle with Alzheimers. She was 90 years old. Trudi was born in Detroit, Michigan on June 26, 1925 to Emil and Maria Munch. She received her Bachelors degree at Wayne State University. She married Gordon Kipps in 1952 and moved to Tucson. Trudi's passion was always reading which led her to pursue her Masters degree in Library Science at the University of Arizona. She worked as a school librarian in TUSD and inspired the love of reading in so many of her students. She also enjoyed travel, the beach, music and wine. Trudi's sparkly eyes and zest for life will be deeply missed by her family and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband, Gordon Kipps and her three sisters, June Bowdy, Emilie Fazlollah and Juliana Vaage. Trudi is survived by her two daughters, Juliana Kipps and Carol Tetrick of Tucson, as well as her two grandchildren, Nick and Megan Tetrick. A "Celebration of her Life" occasion will be planned for the future. Arrangements by ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES, Avalon Chapel.
