Obituary of Sharon Starr

Sharon Starr, born in 1947 in Pueblo, Colorado, passed away on August 29, 2013, in Tucson, Arizona. Shari graduated from East High School in Pueblo, Colorado, in 1965 and attended Colorado State University. She loved music and owned her own music store, Roadrunner Brass and Woodwinds in Tucson, Arizona, for many years. She also loved to play the French horn, the Cornet, and the alto horn in several bands and orchestras in the Tucson area, including the Tucson Concert Band and the Arizona Symphonic Winds; and was a founding member of the Old Pueblo Brass Band. It was with the Tucson Concert Band that Shari was able to visit her favorite place in the world, New Zealand and Australia, and also got to tour Europe; she also served as its President. Shari was preceded in death by her father, Arthur Lewis. She is survived by her mother, Juanita; her brother, Mark, and his wife, Anna; and their children Marcus and Ashley; her daughter Jodie and her husband, Richard; and her daughter Jessica and her children, Caden and Madison. Shari loved the beach, playing board games, and doing Sudoku puzzles. Shari also loved cats, especially her beloved Sandy and Furby. Her friends and family loved her deeply, and she will be missed greatly by all who knew her. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Shari's name to HOPE Animal Shelter in Tucson, http://hopeanimalshelter.net/. A memorial service will be held in Pueblo, Colorado, at a date to be determined by the family.
