My deepest sympathies to Jess & Jodie and their families in this time of grief. Your Mom/Grandma was a wonderful, caring, musical, warm lady with a smooth sense of humor, and amazing calm and fortitude. As one of her customers, we became friends through many long talks, stories, pictures, and laughs. I enjoyed the many times seeing adorable pictures of Cayden and Madison Star. I didn’t learn the correct name spellings, but was blessed to share the many cute things said and done by the grandkids, their progress, the parties, and Shari’s visits with you all. Because of the physical distance, she was only able to make the trip to see Jodie once, but that trip was monumental. She was so excited to go, despite the trepidation of the airplane ride. There were many times we had a snack or lunch together at the storage facility, sharing her joys and hopes about all of you. One very fond memory I have is the evening I was privileged to see and hear Shari play her French horn with the community band. It was a wonderful concert, and she looked so spiffy and proud in her band uniform. Our musical experience and background was just one more area we shared. In addition to her love for her sweet cats, Shari also had a heart for the refugees I help, and donated many items and also space to use until they could be distributed. Shari was a precious gift to me, my husband, and my daughter. Both my husband and daughter helped with fixing and painting at the storage, and all of us were warmed by Shari’s loving giving nature. Over the last nine years, visits with Shari were the sparkles that decorated my life, and I will miss her greatly. Shari was a fountain of God’s love, laughter, encouragement, a wealth of wisdom and experience, and just plain fun.
