Obituary of Marcy Jean King
Marcy Jean King, 60, passed away peacefully on April 14, 2024 in Tucson, Arizona after a hard fought battle with pancreatic cancer. Marcy was born in Traverse City, Michigan on August 12, 1963 to Karen Kaye Rawlings King and Richard Vernon King. She was a graduate of Reed City High School (Reed City, MI) and went on to attend Grand Valley State University earning a Bachelor's degree.
Marcy spent the majority of her professional career working in the medical field, fascinated by the procedures and research she got to be a part of. She enjoyed spending her free time volunteering, being outdoors taking in the scenes and sounds of nature, and having fun with family and friends. Marcy was also a member of The Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR), serving as Chapter Chaplain for the Saguaro Chapter in Mesa, Arizona.
Marcy is survived by her daughter, Brittney (Brian) Donoghue, father, Richard King, sister, Kristin (David) Harris, nieces, Madelyn Harris and Sedona Harris, nephew, Jerrod Harris, and many other great family members and friends. Marcy was preceded in death by her mother, Karen Kaye Rawlings King.
Marcy will be greatly missed, but she will be remembered for her kindness, warm smile, infectious laugh, and embracing hugs. A memorial service will be planned at a future date in Michigan.
