Obituary of Sandy B. Zorilla
Sandy B. Zorilla, née Grijalva, passed away suddenly amid persistent health challenges on February 3rd, 2024. She was 65.
Sandy is survived by her husband Rob, and two children, Anthony and Adrianne; brother and sister in law, Pete and Diane Zorilla; sisters Louise Villasenor, Cynthia Reffruschinni, Maritza Grijalva-McKim, Herma Bristol, Veronica Grijalva- Palmisano, and brother Rene Grijalva; along with numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Refugio (Ralph) and Hermalinda Perez Grijalva, and brothers, Ralph and Richard.
Sandy met Rob, the love of her life, in Tucson in 1981 and they were married in 1982. Sandy was a devoted wife and mother-filled with love and
compassion-for whom family was most important always. She enjoyed joking around, laughing with her family, watching her favorite shows and football together. She adored animals and was a great advocate for them. A devout Catholic, she loved to teach her family the importance of God and prayer. She loved to go to Mount Lemmon for walks with her family. She was an amazing & loving wife to Rob; married for 42 years, they were best friends and soulmates. Her husband and kids were her world; as a mother and wife, she loved fiercely and reveled in sharing stories of her past with her family. She loved visiting her husband's relatives back East and enjoyed many trips to Cape Cod and Lake Tahoe. Sandy kept many animals over the years and had special bonds with her dogs and her guinea pigs. She wished she could save all the animals in shelters and donated as often as possible.
Although she struggled much of her life with
illness, including mental illness, she never lost her faith. She never stopped loving her family and continuously devoted herself to them & everyone around her.
Sandy had a kind heart and loving soul. Her family will miss her dearly, as they are left with heartache and sadness, they will take comfort in knowing Sandy is fully restored now; she will feel only peace and happiness.
A mass at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton will be held on Wednesday, February 21st at 11am. The family requests those who wish to express sympathy to consider making a donation to a local animal shelter or charity in Sandy's name.
