Obituary of Kenneth Carl Graun Sr

Kenneth Carl Graun Sr. (K.C.), 96 of Tucson Arizona passed away peacefully on Saturday July 29. 2023 in Menifee, California.

Born November 19, 1926 in Wisconsin to the late Alice Streng and Fred Graun. K.C. met Josephine Megna in 1953 and they married in 1954. 66 years later Josephine passed away on September 11, 2020.

K.C. served in the Navy during WWII. He served in the army for 8 years and returned to the Navy to retire with 22 years of service. After his retirement he went on to serve as a civil servant of the Veterans Administration, where he retired a second time after 20 years. He was also an active member of the Fleet Reserve Association for many years. K.C. & Josephine moved to Tucson in 1992 to live out the rest of their retirement years. He was involved with the Pima County Sheriffs Department as a volunteer Sheriff assistant. He ran the mobil command center and received several awards doing so. He enjoyed talking on his CB radio up until the time of his death. He also enjoyed going to the casino with Josephine and helping deliver her Avon.

K.C. is survived by his 7 children, Ken Jr. and Joanne Graun, Alice Kochanski and husband Mike, Rose Charles and husband Terry, Harry and wife Deanna, Karl, Phil, and Robert. 4 grandchildren, Steve, Joseph, Jennifer Tews and Adrea. Also survived by 7 great grandchildren, Felicity, Hailymae, Alex, Zienna, Evan, Brooklyn and Mia.
