Obituary of Helen Marie Kwart

HELEN MARIE ADAMS KWART 

APRIL 25, 1928 - SEPTEMBER 6, 2023 

Our Family is saddened to announce that on September 6, 2023 Helen passed away. 

She is survived by her loving husband of 68 years Ronald Kwart.  After a 6 week engagement from a blind date, they were married on December 31, 1954. 

She is also survived by her two children Don Paul and Sheryl Ann along with a long time friend Michael Odum, whom she consider as a son. Grandchildren: Adam, David, Jennifer, Matthew, Garrett, Juston and four great grandchildren. 

Helen was born in Brady Lake Ohio to William R. Adams and Ida Virginia Adams Turner and had two younger sisters Mary and Alice.  

She moved to Tucson, Arizona in 1952, where she worked for AT&T. After leaving AT&T, she worked independently for herself in accounting.  Helen fully retired in 2005. 

Helen loved Tucson, The University of Arizona’s basketball and baseball teams.  She enjoyed watching and promoting her husband, sons, daughter and grandkid’s athletic events. 

Helen was deeply involved in her church, Tucson community and their charity events. Helen’s involvement with the Grace Lutheran Church was not only with the congregation, but also very active with Altar Guild, the In-Betweeners and was extremely proud of the time she and Ron spent with the Reach of the World Choir. 

In Helen’s words, “In my Lord’s redemption, I shall not fear death.” 

Funeral Services will be held on September 20th @ 1:30PM at Grace Lutheran Church 830 N. 1st Avenue Tucson, AZ 85719. A reception will follow in the Church’s Fellowship Hall.
