Obituary of Sabra R Torres

Sabra R. Torres passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Wednesday, August 23, 2023, in Tucson, Arizona. Sabra was born to Ivan and Ruth (Wisler) Bowyer in Chili, IN on April 05, 1934. Sabra was predeceased by her parents, brother Garth Bowyer and husband Alec J. Torres.

Sabra is survived by her son, Tim (Gloria) Torres and daughter, Tara (Galen) Hungate, both of Tucson. Sabra was a very proud grandma to Marisa (Joe) Evangelist, Tim (Hannah Netherton) Torres, Aimee Torres, Amber Hungate and Courtney (Chad) Brimm. She was even more proud of her great grandkids, Eden, Bella, Mason, Maren, Tyler, Aiden and Calen.

Family and friends were her first priority, but her love of travel would have to have been second. Sabra loved the life of travel that her husband Al’s Air Force career offered. Ultimately, living and retiring in the Southwest was their dream fulfilled.

Sabra leaves behind nieces, nephews, many cousins and friends in Indiana, particularly in the Walton and Logansport area. Sabra was extremely proud to have been raised in Indiana and could tell endless stories about Pipe Creek Falls where she spent most of her childhood.

Sabra will be laid to rest with her husband at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, 23029 N. Cave Creek Rd., Phoenix, AZ 85024. Graveside Service will be held Tuesday, September 5th at 1p.m. The celebration of Sabra’s life will be held following her service at the home of Marisa & Joe Evangelist, 1080 E. Birchwood Pl., Chandler, AZ.
