Obituary of June Elizabeth McLeod
June McLeod passed quietly at home on August 21.
June, known as Chris by her close friends, grew up in Toronto, Ohio before venturing off to Washington DC where she earned Top Secret clearance while working on the details of the first atomic submarine.
Wanting a change and to visit San Francisco she travelled across country to California where she became a flight attendant working for one of the first four-prop trans-pacific airlines. Her memories of Hawaii in the 1950’s and snorkeling wrecks of of Wake Island were always a joy to hear.
A blind date resulted in her marriage to Milton just a few months later where they enjoyed life together for over 55 years and produced two children, Keli and Kevin. June and Milt spent their golden years at their mountain home, on their boat or traveling the United States in their motor home. They eventually settled down in Tucson, AZ with their summers spent on the Oregon coast. After Milton’s passing in 2015 June spent her remaining years in Oro Valley entertaining her visiting grandkids.
She is survived by her son, Kevin and grandchildren Greg Jr, Ian and Kendall.”
