At a time when most large oil companies demonstrated Paralysis by Analysis, Orval did not fit that model. Orv and I grew up together. Junior High through college days in Topeka, we were best of friends. Baseball games, ski trips, study groups, ping pong tournaments, high school and college graduations--many, many memories, great times and a lasting friendship. I wish we could have spent more time together in our adult years, but we always kept in touch. Orv was a highly intelligent, funny and caring man. Highly successful in business but even more successful in life's more important aspects--friends and family. He will truly be missed. I wish I just had one more opportunity to talk, reminisce, and laugh with my old friend. RIP OB.
