Obituary of Carol G. Leon
Carol G. León, a vibrant and passionate soul, passed away on July 26, 2023, in Tucson, Arizona, at the age of 68. She was born in Tucson and lived her life on her own terms, leaving behind a legacy of love, creativity, and inspiration.
Carol pursued her education at the University of Arizona, where she studied BPA and Finance, at American Institute of Banking and Finance and later attended the University of Madrid in Spain. She utilized her creativity, passion, and talents to inspire her siblings, nieces, nephews, family, and the community in the arts. As a member of the board of directors for Teatro Carmen in Tucson, Arizona, Carol played a crucial role in bringing various Latino artists, such as Treato Campesino, Ballet Hispanico, Tito Puente and Pancho Sanchez to Tucson. She also volunteered at the Tucson Jazz Society. Her career took her to different cities, where she continuously challenged herself and won numerous awards at Tucson Newspapers/Gannett in advertising, worked at Chilton Corp as a Sales supervisor, worked at AMR Corporation/American Airline as an international reservation agent. Carol's determination and achievements served as an inspiration for others, encouraging them to believe in themselves and pursue their dreams, just as she did.
Carol is and always will be our hero.
Carol's biggest blessing was her beloved son, Michael, whom she loved beyond measure. Her love for her family extended to her sisters, Jean, Leticia, Teresa, and Alice, her brothers, Gilbert (Alice), Ronald, Tony, her close friend Jeff and Ashton, as well as her many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mary Gradillas and Gilbert Leon, and her godson, Xavier Jesus.
With all our love for Carol, we announce that Carol's services will be held at St. Margaret Catholic Church, located at 801 N Grande Ave, from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM on Thursday, August 17th. Following the services, she will be laid to rest at Holy Hope Cemetery, located at 3555 N Oracle Rd.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, a cause that was close to Carol's heart.
Carol G. León will be dearly missed by all who knew her, but her spirit will continue to inspire and touch the lives of those she left behind. May she rest in peace, beauty, and power until we meet again.
