Although I did not know Chris I have known Krickie for many years. Chris raised a daughter that loves nature and cares for our environment. I know that Krickie gets her sense of adventure from both her parents because I often am lucky enough to see photos of a late night blossoming cactus, or an Owl that rarely shows its' face to a camera that Brendan and Chris painstakingly sought out. I wish I could have met her, although I feel that I know a part of her. My thoughts are with you all during this time.

Chris was a very special person and a great friend to us. We will never forget the many trips, dinners, laughs, and good times we had with Chris and Brendan. Chris shared the fact that she loved living in Tucson these past years. She loved nature. And at her end she was granted the peace of being surrounded by the birds, desert plants and flowers she loved. Fond memories Jim and Mary Thavis

Chris loved the outdoors and we were fortunate to spend time birding and enjoying each other’s company together. We had fun adventures at the birding festival in Ashland Wisconsin as well as trips to Cave Creek AZ. We will miss her happy and joyful spirit and wonderful sense of humor. We were truly blessed to have Chris in our lives. Our deepest sympathies go out to her family and friends. Love Anna and Ron.

I will always remember the great times I had with my Aunt Chris. Our families had many Thanksgiving dinners together. She was always there to listen when I needed a different perspective on things going on in my life. There’s a great picture of my Mom, Aunt Curley (Ann Hiatt) and Aunt Chris on my Mom’s refrigerator that I look at and remember our walk along Lake Michigan. She went with us to visit Ann in British Columbia. That was a hard time for me and I loved being with her. She will be remembered as a caring, generous person. I will miss her terribly.
