Obituary of Heether Savage Wray, Jr
Heether "Bud" Savage Wray passed away on April 22, 2023. He was 86 years old. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. Bud married Barbara (Bobbi) Bernard (Wray) on September 19, 1959. He is preceded in death by his wife, Barbara (Bobbi) Wray and son, Darren Wray. He is survived by his son, Allen Wray (Mary) and grandson, Alex Wray. Bud was a native of Tucson and joined the military shortly after graduation. Bud was a renowned Fire Fighter for the Tucson Fire Department (TFD) and continued to be very active in the association up to his passing. He was honored with a bronze statue in front of TFD House 1 in January 2023. Following his retirement from TFD he worked in the movie industry and shared many a story with friends and family. When he finally truly retired, he most enjoyed time with his family, traveling and baseball. He will always be known for his compassion, humility, kindness, generosity and wicked sense of humor. The Wake will be held on Wednesday May 3rd from 6-8PM, followed by the Rosary, at Adair Funeral Home 1050 N. Dodge Blvd Tucson AZ 85716. Mass will be on Thursday May 4th at 10 AM at Saint Francis Catholic Church 1375 S. Camino Seco Tucson AZ 85710. Immediately following Mass, burial will take place at South Lawn Cemetery 5401 S. Park Ave Tucson AZ 85706. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Tucson Firefighters Association Local 479 and St. Jude’s is appreciated.
