Robert Snyder

January 20th, 1932 - March 31st, 2023

Robert J. ‘Bob’ Snyder of Tucson, Arizona entered God’s kingdom on March 31st, 2023, at his home surrounded by family and friends. Born in Philadelphia, PA he moved to Tucson with his family in 1978. He and his wife Susanne were lifelong companions having been married 66 years before her death in 2020. He is survived by his children Karen and Lon Chaney, Stephen and Cynthia Snyder, Tim and Pamela Johnston all of Tucson, Karl and Neatha Snyder of Shawnee, KS and Christopher Snyder of Gilbert, AZ. Bob was "Pops" to 13 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren.

Bob loved sports and played football for his LaSalle High School football team before graduating in 1950. He later coached ice hockey when his sons became involved in the sport and progressed to coach the Villanova University hockey team, his alma mater. Bob could often be seen at University of Arizona football games or watching his beloved Wildcats (both Villanova and U of A) basketball games on TV. Bob also loved gardening and learned about desert landscaping after moving to Tucson. His beautiful home remains testimony to his landscaping expertise to this day.

Bob never met a stranger, and his outgoing personality served him well in is work as a Marketing Director for several organizations in the health care industry throughout his career. He also loved to travel and took frequent trips around the US and Canada his favorites being to Yellowstone and Banff. Bob was also fortunate enough to travel internationally to destinations including Hong Kong, Bali and Germany.

Bob is preceded in death by his parents Daniel and Marie Snyder and his brother Walter Snyder. Bob treasured his family and will long be remembered for his magnetic personality, and as a loving and caring husband, father, and grandfather.

A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Odilia's Church, 7570 N. Paseo del Norte, Tucson, Arizona 85704 at 11:00am on Friday April 21st, 2023.
