Dear Ruth and family:
I was so sorry to receive the news of Dale's passing. He was an extraordinary colleague and consummate archivist during my years at the Hoover Library. His devotion to the life and legacy of Lou Henry Hoover insured that Lou received the attention she deserved from scholars and historians across the country and around the world. Just as important was Dale's enthusiasm for new ideas and his willingness to contribute to a wide variety of programs and activities that enhanced the library.
I am deeply grateful for having had Dale as a friend and colleague. May God bless you all in your time of grief. Vicki and I will keep you in our prayers.
