Obituary of Marilyn Lois Habicht

MARILYN LOIS HABICHT

Marilyn passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of March 17, 2023 at Pueblo Springs Rehabilitation Center in Tucson. She only moved there on March 15th for respite care. She had been under the wonderful in-home care of Agape Hospice since 2020. Her family is grateful to all those caregivers that protected her from Covid when family was not allowed to visit. Their continuing care for those grieving is remarkable! Sincere gratitude to Marilyn’s dear friend, Shari, from Nebraska, who surprised her with a visit on her birthday last year. A special thanks to her dear neighbors, Alfred and Blanca Gomez, who checked on Marilyn and her property all these years.

Born in Seattle, Washington to Claude and Myrtle Morgan, August 15, 1946. They were both Navy veterans and stationed near there after WWII. They moved to NJ to raise Marilyn, a sister and brother. Later, the family moved to Bladensburg, Md, where Marilyn graduated high school in 1964. She met her husband, Jack, and they raised their children in Riverdale, Md. They loved boating on the Chesapeake Bay. The family moved to California in 1977.

Marilyn is survived by her daughter, Tracy Ann Edwards (WI), her husband, Rob, and their children, Jen and Ryan. She is also survived by her sister, Claudia Morgan Fort (CA), her son, Jesse and his son, Kaden; her brother, Peter Frank Morgan (NC), wife Deb and their 3 children and 8 grandchildren.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jack (John G. Habicht) and devoted son, John, Jr. After Jack’s early death in ’92, Mar followed John’s occupational moves to Lincoln, NE, Nashville, TN, and eventually to Tucson and Sahuarita. John was a wonderful son, who always took care of his Mom. Her health declined steadily after his sudden death in 2014.

Marilyn’s love for Jack, John and “Max” (her dog companion that brought her much comfort during her years of grief) were happy memories she shared that brought a sense of peace in her final hours. May they all be together again in light and love. Her death brought all the survivors back together again for healing and love. RIP, Mar.
