Obituary of Darlene Minnie Jean Reyes

Darlene Minnie Jean (Thompson) Reyes, passed away peacefully at the age of 80 on February 14th, 2023 with loved ones at her side.  She was born and raised in Globe, AZ, and graduated from Globe High School in 1960.  Darlene lived in Tucson since 1970, and was married to her beloved Ruben of 41 years before he passed away in 2004. Darlene is survived by her 3 sons, Robert, Ronnie and Ricky, six grandchildren, and one great granddaughter.  Darlene was a devoted mother who loved cooking, traveling, and people. Family and friends will especially remember her extraordinary cooking and baking skills. Darlene had a culinary passion, she loved to cook, and no one ever left her table hungry. Even though it was not part of her cultural background, Darlene learned to prepare many Mexican food dishes with great authenticity from her mother in law Dolores “Lola” Reyes. Her Christmas tamales, red chile beef, and cheese enchiladas were the best. She and Ruben would host an amazing annual Christmas Eve celebration where family and friends would gather to enjoy Darlene’s cooking. We will all dearly miss our beloved mother, grandmother, and friend. " God bless you".
