Obituary of Jacob Hunter Dunaway
Jacob Hunter Dunaway passed away suddenly on Saturday, December 31, 2022, at the age of 16.
Jacob was born on Tuesday, April 18, 2006, in Tucson, Arizona and grew up in the Vail community. It was obvious at a very young age how brilliant Jacob was. A friend referred to him as a little shining star. Many also considered Jacob to be an old soul, he was wise beyond his years. Those that knew Jacob knew kindness. He was always there for his friends with a smile and a reassuring thumbs up.
To say Jacob was determined is an understatement. Whether it was a catcher in baseball, a goalkeeper in soccer, weightlifting, marching band or school, Jacob gave everything he had, and then some. He weighed approximately 150 lbs. and achieved a max squat of 375 lbs.! Jacob was destined to be the drumline captain of the Cienega High School Copper Thunder Marching Band during his senior year. Jacob’s most recent endeavor was welding. This was more than a shop class to Jacob; it had become his career path. He also dreamed of finding an older Camaro for a project car. Jacob always continued to amaze us.
Jacob is survived by his loving parents James and Zoe, brother Nicholas, aunt and uncle Cela Archambault and Michael Mally, numerous extended family members and many wonderful friends.
