In 1986 I had the good fortune to join the Burr-Brown Corporation in Tucson, Arizona, where I met Eric and numerous other brilliant and talented professionals passionate about improving the world around them. Although we worked in different areas, Eric and I got to know each other while carpooling. We soon became friends and spent many joyful hours conversing deeply about work and life. We joined other Burr-Browners in sporting activities such as volleyball, softball, hiking, weight training, mountain biking, and even a downhill ski trip to the White Mountains of Arizona, where Eric, one of his fellow chemical engineers, and I visited with Eric's father, who graciously shared his home with some aspiring ski bums. Eric was like the big brother I never had, and I will always be grateful for the knowledge and spiritual guidance he lovingly shared with me.
