Obituary of Oren Frank Adair

Oren Frank Adair, 82, of Tucson, Arizona, passed away peacefully alongside his family on
January 28, 2023 after cardiovascular complications.
Oren was born on May 28, 1940 in Fort Smith, Arkansas. After Oren graduated from Hartford
High School in 1958, he went on to study marketing at the University of Arkansas. UofA always
held a special place in Oren’s heart, as it is also where he met his wife, Dorothy. Long after
graduating, he and Dorothy loved watching Arkansas games on TV and cheering on their
Razorbacks!
After graduating, he began a long and fruitful career in sales and management, enjoying
positions at Xerox, 3M, A1 Mobile Homes, and others. Oren changed positions on several
occasions, always embracing new opportunities and growth within his field. His numerous
positions allowed him to travel frequently with his wife. This included destinations to Rio, Hawaii,
and attending the 1980 Winter Olympics in Lake Placid. Oren and Dorothy bonded over their
passion for exploring the world, and the locals enjoyed their kind and loving attitudes.
Oren and Dorothy were married in 1962 and shared 60 wonderful years together. They had their
first, and only daughter, Jennifer, in 1970. Their little, but loving family called a few states home,
including Arkansas, Missouri, Alabama, Tennessee, Texas, and eventually Arizona, after
settling there in 1998 to be closer to their daughter and her family.
At age 65, Oren retired and spent his time relaxing at home with his wife, watching movies and
crime shows (which he demanded being checked out via the library, as this was free). He was
an avid fan of college and professional basketball and football, never missing a game. His
favorite activity was visiting his family, which had grown into a son-in-law, three granddaughters,
and a great-grandson. He was well known for his sense of humor and caring personality. Most
notably, he was infamous for his poems and off-the-cuff speeches he would give at every
birthday, event, graduation, marriage, birth, etc. The speeches were full of love, passion, and
would certainly embarrass a granddaughter or two in the moment. He was a great role model
and was always ready to help others in need with a smile on his face, and a joke to lighten any
stressful situation.
Oren was predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Eva, and in-laws, James Royce and Ethel.
Oren is survived by his wife Dorothy, his daughter Jennifer and husband Daren, three
grandchildren, Krista and her husband Zach, Hannah and her fiancé Brandon, and Rachel. He
is also survived by his great-grandson, Levi, another great-grandson on the way, his brother
Larry, and step-sister Shirley and husband Paul Gregory. Oren loved his family above all else,
and enjoyed visiting them any chance he could. His family loved and still loves him equally
back. He was a proud father, grandfather, and great-grandfather and will be dearly missed.
The family will be doing a private memorial at home in Arizona. In lieu of flowers, the family
requests donations be made to Arkansas Children’s Hospital in Little Rock, an organization
Oren felt strongly about.
