Obituary of Robert Samuel Nanna
Robert S.(Sam) Nanna, 83, died November 19, 2022 from complications from Parkinsons caused by agent orange exposure while serving in the Vietnam war. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Winnie; their children Bernadine and her husband Mike Cannon, and Spanky and his wife Jill Nanna; 5 grandchildren, Kathleen, Paul & Kevin Cannon, Caitlin & Ryan Nanna; one great-grandchild, precious Paislee; many nieces and nephews and one sister, Javada Brown. Sam was predeceased by his sister, Patsy Nanna Myers and brother, AR Nanna.
Sam was born on December 11th, 1938 in Cape Girardeau, Missouri to Gertrude & Ernest T (Burr) Nanna. He joined the Air Force in 1956, He met his wife Winnie in 1959 while serving in England. During his 20 year career in the Air Force worked in Security Police and Club Management serving in US, England, Vietnam & Turkey. After retiring from the Air Force, Sam & Winnie operated the Harp & Shamrock Irish Pub in Tucson, Arizona for over 20 years.
Sam loved his family, telling jokes, and helping others. His kindness was legendary. God rest his soul.
There will be a celebration of life on December 11, 2022 (Sam's Birthday) at the VFW Post 549 located at 8424 E Old Spanish Trail, Tucson, AZ 85710 from 4PM-7PM.
