Obituary of Stonewall Jackson
It was a hell of a ride, but Pop made his final curtain call at 1:31pm on Thursday, 11/17/22. The Man, The Myth. To quote his favorite singer/songwriter Kris Kristofferson, he could be a walking contradiction, partly truth and partly fiction; he always had a story to tell, a yarn to spin. Today would have been his 79th birthday and while we are sad he couldn’t make it, we know he is now free of pain and has found peace.
We’d love for people to share their favorite stories of Pop in the comments below - we are all sad but he would have wanted us to focus on the good times, because there were so many. The quote that always helps me through these rough moments in life is “Don’t cry because it’s over but smile because it happened.” Pop might have asked me if that was a Kristofferson lyric, and I’d say no, it was Dr. Seuss. Then I imagine him saying “Kris would have said it better …”

He loved every one of y’all and we see through the stories we have been hearing that the feeling was mutual. What a character he was, and will forever be!
We’ll love you and treasure the memories we have created together forever, Pop. We can’t begin to describe how much we will miss you …
