Obituary of Christopher Mark Carson

Christopher (Kit) Mark Carson went to be with the Lord on September 17th, 2022. He was born on January 7th, 1950 in Wray, Colorado to Dean and Iris Carson. After discovering Kit could not hear they wanted the best opportunity for him so they moved to Tucson, Arizona and enrolled him in the Arizona School for the Deaf and Blind (ASDB).

Kit grew up with 5 siblings, Terry (Diana), Cathie (Mary), Susan (Dan) Hicks, John (Lori) and Deana (Michael) Vance. Kit was blessed with his first two children Donna Hullings and Mark (Toni) from his first marriage then later married his wife Connie and having two boys Robert (Kimberly) and Matthew (Megahn). In addition, they have 18 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren

Kit's parents always provided their children with the best opportunities to succeed in life. Kit thrived in school, trying out just about every elective, sport and activity. He excelled in football and basketball but particularly shined in track. He led multiple state championships and he, along with his deaf cousin Tom, had an opportunity to tryout for a World Track meet. Kit graduated college specializing in architecture and woodworking. He worked for his father at Carson Concrete and went on to start his own business ranging from an architect to building homes and pouring concrete. When he wasn't working, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping. He really loved just about anything he could do outdoors with his family.

Growing up, Kit and his siblings knew and understood what it was to put in a hard day's work, set by example from his parents. If you wanted something, you earned it through preserverance and determination. This mindset has been engrained in the Carsons and this impact is evident throughout our families. Kit came to understand that this was by no means a measure of success. He knew he was missing something in his life and accepted the Lord as his savior on May 26th, 1976. He always put Jesus first, then family just as God intended.

God was calling Kit to become a pastor and he answered that call by going to college to become a pastor.  He spent 22 years serving God by providing an opportunity for the deaf to hear God's good news of repentance, forgiveness and salvation.
