Dylan was a natural leader. In our Scout Troop, because many of the skills came easily to him, Dylan went out of his way to mentor the younger scouts. He was always seen teaching them how to pack a backpack, read a map, or use a compass. Scoutmasters always reached out to him first when there were important tasks to accomplish or skills to train. Our junior scouts all looked up to him and trusted him implicitly. I recall taking a photo of him navigating his team on a 100+ mile canoe expedition of the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness and thinking, he's in his element.
One thing about Dylan, you could always rely on him. Even when he'd already achieved Eagle Scout, the highest rank in scouting, he always showed up to help his peers work on their Eagle Scout Service Projects. Of course, he's in nearly every photo we have of our Troop's Sea Base cruise. No crew was complete without Dylan. We all miss him deeply.

Dylan was born to be a leader in his community. I’ll never forget his participation in the FishHawk Relay for Life, in which he walked in my honor, and remembered those who have lost their battle with Cancer. Love you mucho, Juline, Rob and Tre. Your friend, Jano

He was such a funny little boy. I remember him with his Grandpa and the “magic socks”. Steve told Dylan his socks were magic and made people disappear if they touched them. Dylan touched his Grandpa’s socks and Steve started calling, “Dylan! Dylan! Where did you go?” Dylan was frantically answering and saying he was right there. Cleverly Dylan thought to touch the magic socks again and he reappeared. They laughed and hugged and it became a memory we never forgot. So many memories we will never forget.

Dylan was always so kind and brought joy to wherever he was. I wish we could have spent more time together but I am grateful for the time we had.
