I am so privileged to have had Doris as a neighbor and friend for 30 years. Her wit, intelligence, humor, practicality, IMMENSE knowledge of the desert, sense of adventure, and ready smile were her calling cards. I wish we could clone her being not only to have it among us, but to put it in every place that needs a dose of kindness, caring, and intelligence. I already miss our weekly visits and her.
My heartfelt condolences to her daughters and grandson, all of whom were the lights of her life. I know your memories are strong and good.
The lesson Doris left is that life is truly an adventure. I think the best tribute we can pay to Doris and who she was is to commit to more adventure in more places in our lives. My commitment is Ecuador this fall and I know Doris will be along for the joy of it.
