Obituary of Zachary Alan Quackenbush
It is with great sadness the family of Zachary Alan Quackenbush announces his sudden passing on November 30th, 2021. Zachary was 28; he’s an avid supporter of desert conservation, a lover of the outdoors, and an ally to every living creature. Beyond being a ready camping companion, Zach was also a talented artist with a vivid imagination, known to occasionally spend quiet evenings after work with his favorite IPA and sketchpad. Other days he simply enjoyed best the company of his longtime friends.
Born in Moline, Illinois, Zach then moved to Texas, Minnesota, and finally Arizona with his parents and siblings. Living in so many different climates undoubtedly helped his zeal for nature as well as his ability to acclimate to whichever path life took. Equal parts “goofy video game nerd” and “solemn old soul”, Zach was ultimately a man of substance and will be remembered forever as someone who could always be counted on.
Zachary is survived by his father, Todd Quackenbush, as well as his stepmother, Carol Quackenbush, his older brother, Adam Quackenbush, and his older sister, Samantha Quackenbush. An extended family and a great many close friends also mourn Zachary’s passing. He is now with his mother, Mary Quackenbush, and their dog Ebee, both of whom were of the utmost importance to Zachary next to his big brother and dad.
A Celebration of Life will be coordinated at a further date. In lieu of flowers or balloons, please consider donating to a national park service, to Pima Animal Control Center, or simply doing conservation work in Zach’s name.
