Obituary of Robert F. Lebo

Robert Francis Lebo, 88, longtime owner of Lebo’s Radiator Service and US Navy Veteran passed away November 3, 2021. Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Marguerite Lebo, sisters Carol Ann Kozielski and Lois Kobida, his former wives, Arlene Lebo, mother of his five children and Sharon Lebo. Son, Gerald Lebo. Great grandson, Ethan. Survived by sister, Patsy McCarty (Bill). Son, Thomas Lebo. Three daughters, Diane Stallings (Dave), Karen Benson (Byron III) and Lisa Hall (Dennis). Eight grandchildren, Byron IV, Justin, Corey, Nick, Shea, Rachel, Jacqueline and Kim. Five great grandchildren, Byron V, Cooper, Grant, Zoe and Caleb. One great, great grandchild Trevor and many wonderful nieces and nephews. We love you Dad, you will always remain in our hearts.  A Memorial Service will be held Wednesday, November 17^th, 2021 at Adair Avalon Chapel, 8090 N. Northern Avenue at 10:00 AM. 

Robert was born in Odell, Illinois on July 28, 1933. The Lebo family moved to Tucson in 1948. Bob graduated from Amphi High School in 1951 and entered into the Navy February of 1952 during the Korean War. For the next three years, his life was a life of anchors aweigh. Serving on the USS Philippine Sea, CVA-47. In 1955, after having attained the rank of Class Petty Officer, Bob took his discharge papers, in hand and headed home to his family. There was never any doubt that he would enter the family radiator shop, Lebo’s Radiator Service, started in 1950; he was the third employee. Under his dad’s tutelage, he did it all. In 1973 Bob purchased the shop from his dad, building and growing the business with his two hardworking sons along with other valuable employees. During his business tenure, dad became very involved in the radiator industry, becoming western chairman of the automotive cooling industry and was named “Man of the Year”. Achieving his life goals, this “Radiator Man”, closed the business and retired. He was quite the hunter too, having bagged in the space of seven years, the 10 big game trophies of Arizona.

Upon retirement Bob spent his days as an avid golfer, bowler and fisherman. Spending time with family and his longtime friends. Bob was very active and in good health. He was a good man with a loving family, great friends and enjoyed a long fulfilled life.
