Obituary of Clara Holcombe

Clara Jean Holcombe, beloved wife of James “Buddy” Holcombe for 47 years, passed away on Sunday October 24, 2021 in Tucson, AZ at the age of 89. She leaves behind two sons (Leonard Holcombe and Bennie (Debbie) Holcombe), sister (Barbara Morrison), 3 grandchildren (Jason (Michelle) Holcombe, Mindy (George) Torgeson, and Jamiee Winkle), 8 great grandchildren (RaeAnn, Marisa, Shana, Austen, Emily, Dixon, Alison, and Tyeler),  2 great great granddaughters (Mia and Zayla), and many nieces and nephews.      

 

Clara was born on April 19, 1932 in Pifer, AL to Erskine and Clara Bell Warren. At the age of 15 she met the love of her life, James “Buddy” Holcombe. Three months later they married on December 24, 1947 in Colenaro, AL. In November of 1952 they moved to Tiger, AZ then to Mammoth, AZ in 1954 where they raised their two sons. Finally in 1995 after losing the love of her life, Buddy, she moved to Tucson, AZ where she lived near family. 

 

She enjoyed playing bingo with a passion, family gatherings, and cooking mouthwatering food to which she would leave the precious recipes to nobody. 

 

Visitation will be held on Thursday October, 28, 2021, at Adair Funeral Home, located at 8090 N Northern Ave. Tucson, AZ 85704 from 3:00 pm - 6:00 pm.

 

Graveside service will be on Friday, October 29, 2021, 12:00 noon at Valley View Cemetery, in Mammoth, AZ.
