I first met Jan over 30 years ago in my Weight Watchers class. I mentioned I was having a spiritual struggle and wished I knew more about the bible. She invited me over to her home where she gave me a bible and said, "We are going to start in John, because he is the apostle of love". From that day forward and through the years I realized Jan was a disciple of love. She had love and passion in all she did, her faith, her family, friends and her Wildcats. I will miss you dear friend. Thank you for loving us all.

When I think of Jan, I see her delicate hands. Hands that softly touch a child's head or shoulder with encouragement. Hands that capture the child's attention as she tells a story. Hands that a child holds for protection and a feeling of security. Hands that firmly held her family together with her fierce touch all encompassing love. I cannot express my sympathy enough for the family and friends of the Ramsey/Hansen family. Jan was such an amazing lady that cared for everyone and gave great hugs. Many years of of conversations, happy birthday messages, thoughts, prayers and love, will be very missed. Jan, you always made me feel like I was one of your own, thank you for letting me in so long ago and continuing to be a part of my life for so many years. I will carry your love and tender heart with me and make sure that I can make someone feel special the way you made me feel special. You will be missed greatly by so many people as well as myself. I love you and will miss you. Rest in peace.

I worked with Jan at Scholastic for many years. I always admired her passion for education and her work ethic. She was so positive and always wanted the best for everyone around her. She always talked about the love for her family and University of Arizona, and truly lived her religion. She was a special person and I will miss her!

Jan ranks among the most influential people in my life. If my family needed prayer, she was a faithful warrior. Her mother was my 6th grade teacher, she taught my son in kindergarten, I taught her granddaughter in the Richardson library, and my son taught high school science to her granddaughters. And she taught me how to be a Wildcat fan!
