I have been friends with the Nestlerode family for more than 20 years and have shared many hours of laughs and fun with them. Norm will be sorely missed for not only his friendship and humor but his wit and kindness. Rest in peace my friend. Give my brothers a hug for me. We will all be together again someday, unfortunately none of us get out of this world alive. Your time was way too soon! Miss you mister man! :-'(

I remember the day Norm and I met. It was early 1990 on Lake Conroe in Texas. We spent the day on the water with our families and had a blast. Good times! Godspeed my friend!

I knew Norm and family for several years when I lived in both Virginia and Arizona. Although I have not seen them in many years I treasure the friendship we had. Norm is one of those people who stays in your thoughts forever and he welcomed you with open arms. We had fun times that I will treasure. May time ease the pain for family and friends. Know that I am thinking of you and wishing you peace and wonderful thoughts of Norm forever.

Knew Norm from working the border in Nogales as an agent. Like all of the men & women on the border I respected Norm's dedication, professionalism, and expertise in all he did for our investigations. I also cherish the few memories I have of riding (following in a car) with Norm, Ron Friend, and all their biker friends when we would take to the road. Rest in Peace Norm and will meet again. Prayers and deep sympathy to Fay and family. Barry Lory

To Fay and Norm Nestlerode's Family,
Please accept my deepest and sincerest condolences.
It is my fervent hope that for a period of time you will grieve as a family, as you should, but then, with time focus on the many good times and experiences you shared with your husband, father, and grandfather.
As you know it was my privilege to serve with Norm in the old Customs Service and later in Customs and Border Protection. He was a good man and a true friend and professional. No matter which way the political winds were blowing at Headquarters I knew all I had to do was pick up the phone and Norm would be there for me. His support for the organization and doing what was best for the men and women serving in Arizona and the nation never waivered. Arizona had a reputation within CBP as being on the forefront of innovation and leadership. Norm was a major contributor to that reputation.
While all of us have lost a friend and colleague, we should never forget how our lives were made richer for the time we served with Norm. He was a good man and we will miss him.
My intentions are to abide by your wishes and contribute to the Tunnel 2 Towers Foundation.
I have the honor to remain,
Respectfully,
Bill
