Obituary of Betty Jo Campbell
Betty “Jo” Campbell died on February 17, 2021. She will be forever remembered by her daughter Lorien Smith, and her granddaughter, Kyla Ramon. Jo was born in Idaho. She was one of six children born to Carol and Rolland Campbell. Jo is survived by her mother Carol, and her brothers David, Daniel, and John Campbell. She is also survived by her many loving nieces and nephews. Deidre Jo Richards and Ondrea Campbell live locally and were a blessing to her life. Family was very important, near and far.
Jo was a long time resident of Tucson, moving here with her first husband, John C. Smith, in 1979. She was a proud graduate of the University of Arizona. She met her late husband Roger Hooker here in Tucson and married him in 2003. Together they often listened and danced to live bands and participated in the Tucson Folk Festival.
Jo held many jobs over the years. She was most proud of being a Videographer and an Administrative Secretary for Trinity Presbyterian Church. After she graduated from the U of A, she pursued her career as a Videographer. She was responsible for helping to create a video training program for the Tucson Cable Corporation. Many people in Tucson took her class, so that they would be able to use the video equipment at the TCC. Her final job was at Trinity Presbyterian Church, where she made great and lasting friendships. After she retired, she continued to contribute to the Church community. She felt at peace there as a Member.
Jo touched the lives of many people and will be greatly missed.
