Happy Birthday sissy. I miss you. I think about all the things I could have, should have done differently throughout our adult lives: spend more time together, talk more, just be there more.
I feel like we were just starting to do that. Ultimately, I know you are in heaven and you are at peace and singing and dancing and praising Jesus!! I can't wait to hug you again sis. I love you. I miss you.

My sister Jill was the best kind of person! Her heart was always devoted to family and she opened her home to care for so many! She cared for and loved Tom's mom and dad, our momma, and our dad. She always wanted a big family and many children. After doctors told her it was too risky to have more of her own, Jill was blessed to foster and adopt their two youngest children. She and Tom gave their all to raise their kids in love and especially with a foundation in Jesus! Jill often felt that she was not good enough, or smart enough, or pretty enough but she had an amazing, beautiful spirit that outshined all the superficial things of this life! She cherished her friendships and cultivated them into lifelong relationships! She was always the driving force in our family to bring us together for holidays, special moments and reunions to maintain those connections. It meant everything to her! She put herself aside to help anyone in need. After many years of being a mom, Jill reentered the workforce! It wasn't easy but she impressed me so much with her tenacity and desire to learn and work hard and grow! She was amazing. I don't know many people who could do all she did! Her co-workers care and concern for her show that she affected their lives as well. I could say so much about our lives as sisters. Growing up, we were very different but we were still close and became closer as we grew older! So much of our relationship was rooted in our shared faith in Jesus and the foundation our momma built in us! That foundation was nourished by our amazing Sunday school teacher, hair stylist, and lifelong friend Liz Rivera. She is still a part of our lives today! Thank you Liz! My sister loved her family, music, dancing, reading, being in the cool mountain air and the color purple! Now, she is in heaven! She is perfect, singing, dancing and rejoicing with the Lord and the angels and so many of our loved ones who went before: our momma, our brother, our aunt Jo and uncles Clete and Bill, our beloved grandma Connelly, and too many cousins and friends, I thank God for His perfect plan and provision for Jilly. She has no more cares or worries. It seems too soon for us that are still here but, I trust in the Lord; His ways are above our ways and He sees the beginning from the end. I know He did the exact, right thing for Jill. Even though we don't understand it now, we will one day. God has revealed to us over and over how much He loves and cares for us! He put so many people in place to cover Jill and all of us in prayers! So many family members, co-workers, friends and prayer warriors buoyed all of us throughout this time and continue to do so today and I know they will going forward. This church especially has wrapped their arms around our family with love and support via meals, gifts and prayers and just being there! It is everything Jill would have done! Thank you all! Sis, you would be so proud of Tom and the kids and how they have drawn together to love, help and support one another. What a beautiful legacy you created in them! I love you and I miss you sissy! I thank God for the years we had here together. I know that I will see you again. Until then, I will always keep close to my heart the scripture momma wanted me to read just before she passed: John 14:27-"Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid."-Kim
