I met Ken at the table playing bridge. So sorry to hear of his passing. He was very nice and complimentary to me. He Was a great player. He will be missed at the club for sure.

Among my memories of our shared years in Dalton High School is an image the back of Ken's head, as we were often seated alphabetically. I also remember his swiveling around, back and forth, as he always enjoyed engaging with friends.
In classes, he was a worthy competitor. At the piano he excelled. Kate Buchwalter and I several times turned pages for him and Ron Sprunger during their piano duos. We all took lessons from Mrs. Berg but we gals couldn't keep up with these guys on the ivories.
I appreciate the description given here of his life since then. Clearly it was a very full one. And will live on in the memories of his family and the many friends he made since.

A former high school classmate of Ken's shared a memory with me which I had forgotten, but it is too special not to share with friends of Ken's and family. At his high school graduation Ken and fellow classmate, Ron Sprunger, played a piano duo written by Edward Grieg based upon Mozart's Sonata in C major. As a little girl I turned to my Mom and whispered, "I'll never be able to play like that!" It did, however, instill a drive within me to try.
I was able to find a video of that composition and wanted to share the link here for those who might wish to listen. It is only 8 minutes in length and a really fun musical memory.

Vera and family, I know I speak for a few of us at Adobe Bridge, and wanted to let you know Ken was most loved and admired there. He became my mentor last winter, and just amazed me at his skill and caring for others learning to play. I will miss him greatly, and was happy to read of all the family events and trips he and Vera shared. May you find comfort in knowing his love will continue. We will have fond memories of him forever, Dori and Mel Frankel.

My grandfather was such a kind, gentle soul. He was always smiling and loved to tell jokes and make everyone laugh. He lived a very fulfilling life - traveling and seeing all of the wonderful places in the world with my grandmother Vera. My last time spent with him was when he & my family attended my wedding in May of 2015. We went to the Cracker Barrel restaurant after and made many great memories. I wish I had been able to see/speak to him again after that, but I am at peace knowing that he is no longer suffering and that my grandmother, father, and uncles made sure he was always loved and cared for. I will always cherish him and admire the love he and my grandmother had for each other.
