Obituary of Bradley Scott Gorkowski
Bradley Scott Gorkowski, 63, passed away in Catalina, Arizona on October 11th, 2020.
Brad was born in Greenville, SC on December 22, 1956. As a military brat, he moved all over the U.S. until his family settled in Tucson. He graduated from Canyon Del Oro high school where he was a star football player and wrestler.
After graduation he began a career as a construction heavy equipment operator and met his wife of 41 years, Cyndee Shumaker. Brad and Cyndee raised two children, Justin and Julie, and were blessed with five amazing granddaughters.
Brad loved to hunt, fish and shoot archery. He was also a wrestling and football coach for Coronado junior high. Brad loved the outdoors and felt most at home in the cool mountain air.
Upon retirement as a construction superintendent, Brad pursued his passion for archery by teaching his nieces and area youth through the local 4H archery and shooting sports programs.
Brad is survived by his loving wife, Cyndee; his children Justin (Elizabeth); Julie (Neil); his brother Bruce (Karen); sisters Karilyn (Wayne) and Karen (Ed); grandchildren Kiersten, Isabella, Kaitlyn, Zoey, and Claire. Brad is also survived by three loving grandnieces, Relina, Peyton, and Alyssa who held a special place in his heart.
He will be remembered in a small family memorial service at the Adair Funeral Home in Tucson, Arizona on Saturday, October 17th. There will be a celebratory gathering following the service at 1:00pm at Brad’s house.
