Obituary of Donna Gosla
Donna Jean Gosla, 89, a wonderful mother and grandmother, was born on March 3, 1931, in Davenport, Iowa and passed away peacefully in the early morning of October 10, 2020. She was preceded in death by her husband, Calvin Bernard Gosla. She is survived by daughters Debbie Baldwin (Roy), Connie Eastburn (Vern), and Mary Koike (Bruce); sons, Calvin Gosla II (Julie) and Rich Gosla (Amy); 12 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren. Recognized as a great seamstress, Grandma Goose, generously made each of her grandchildren their own uniquely created quilts for their high school graduation.
Among her many life’s achievements was her positive impact on everyone’s life. Donna and Calvin (Goose) were founding members of St. Odilia Church and she served as a Lector and an Eucharistic Minister. She also worked as an administrative assistant at Prince Elementary School and volunteered at Northwest Hospital in Tucson in her retirement years. Donna was a very quiet woman, but she had the tenacity and strength to raise five wonderful and productive children, and was widely known for making the best chicken and dumplings (sliders) in the world.
Donna will be greatly missed, but never forgotten. Rest in peace Mom, you can now go be with Dad again.
