Obituary of Kristi Lou Brandt

Brandt, Kristi Lou, age 65 of Tucson, passed away unexpectedly on Sept. 6, 2020. She passed away peacefully under hospice care after a short battle with a vicious cancer. Survived by her beloved mother Dolores (Dee) Messer, brothers Jim (Cynthia) and Dick, nephews Andrew and Ian, former husband John Brandt, and many loving friends. Kristi loved her Mom, God, her dear friends, her furry pals, her husband and the game of poker. For the last several years she was an incredibly devoted caregiver to her mother.

Kristi overcame great hardships early in life, and she chose to use her resulting strength to help others throughout her adult life. Her genuine sense of love and compassion for others' well-being was impossible to miss. Kristi had the often elusive ability to connect with others on an authentic emotional level – not only her friends, but all those who had the good fortune to cross her path. Kristi was gifted in sharing her love and compassion in a way that got through even the toughest layers, and she encouraged others to pass on these feelings and emotions to others. Kristi was paying it forward her whole life, because she knew love for one another is what being human is all about.

And Kristi didn't just love her people – she loved her animals. Many of Kristi’s pets over the years were rescued from dire circumstances. She loved and nurtured them, restoring their faith in people and providing a loving forever home.

Kristi left a legacy of love among her friends and family. Her greatest wish was for those left behind to share their love with others openly and without reservation.

Memorial service details to follow; an outdoor gathering will be held once the weather cools and social distancing is easier.
