Obituary of Dan Hamner
Dan Hamner, 37, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on June 6, 2020. He was born September 13, 1982 to parents Bobby and Gerry Hamner and big sister Lacy in Twin Lakes, Colorado. He was a chubby, happy baby that brought joy to everyone he met and immediately captured their hearts, although Lacy did say “she was happy as an only child”. Dan loved soccer, swimming, fishing, camping, skiing, and riding his BMX bike.
Dan was charming and friendly, and was always willing to help family, friends, or strangers. Despite struggles during his teen years, he achieved a GED. He received a scholarship offer for college, but his struggles with addiction interfered with that plan. He worked as a window washer, laborer, and in sales. He finally found his niche in commercial collection sales as Director of Strategic Sales for Graystone Partners, where he was employed until the Covid 19 shutdown.
Dan met Marcy May midyear of 2016 and they fell in love. They were married on December 13, 2016. They shared many joyful and happy times, including a trip to the coast with Marcy's family, fishing trips, and spending time with his stepson Anthony. Dan and Marcy were excited about their future and had many plans.
Dan was preceded in death by his father, Bobby Hamner, his uncles LeRoy Hamner, J. P. Hamner, Charles O. Hamner, Tommy Watkins, Tony Watkins, and his grandparents. He is survived by his wife, Marcy, stepson Anthony, his mom, Gerry, his dad, Jim, his sister Lacy, and numerous other family and friends.
We will always miss him. We will always be sad that he is gone. We will never forget how he made us laugh. Remember Dan with acts of kindness, understanding, and giving.
