I'm sorry to hear that we've lost Nick. I hadn't seen him in some time - at least in part because I haven't lived in Tucson for many years, but I certainly clearly remember his energy and involvement! We were housemates for a time at the house where the infamous U of A Homecoming floats were assembled and invested a great deal of time and energy in those and in multiple other projects at the time. His mother "Hap" came to live with us for awhile and his brother Chris was always one of the "good guys." He will be fondly remembered. Cheers.

Nick was a proud member of Beta Phi Delta (BFD), and denizen of The Olive House (theolivehouse.org) at the U of A. He was instrumental in BFD activities, such as the building of homecoming floats: The Gold Outhouse ('Flush the Vandals') in 1964 and Roman With The Right Women in 1965, 'directing' stadium traffic, listening to music and drinking Thunderbird. Although not a musician himself, he was very much involved in the party when we played and sang. Nick had a wonderful, conspiratorial grin and was always up for an adventure. Although prickly at times, I remember him as kind and generous, always wanting to be helpful, even getting out of bed to drive me across town to work, on his motorcycle. My dearest memory of Nick was a Tucson summer night, when we rode up to DeGrazia's compound and onto the tower. It may have been the only time we really talked. Sharing stories about our lives and futures and dreams. Those futures took us in different directions and we rarely saw each other. The last time I saw him was 15 or 16 years ago, having not seem him in maybe 20 years before that. It was a joy to see that grin.
