Obituary of Mary Jane Klingberg
Mary Jane Klingberg, 86, passed away Friday, February 14, 2020 from complications related to lung cancer. She passed quietly and peacefully surrounded by her loving family. She did it her way.
The youngest of 10 siblings, Mary Jane Liott was born September 13, 1933 in Lattimer Mines, Pennsylvania. After graduating from Hazelton Township High School, she left the comfort of her home and family in the little coal mining town for the great unknowns of Washington D.C. What a culture shock that must have been for a young girl! She worked for the Air Force at the Pentagon for ten years prior to getting married in 1959 to the love of her life, Eric Klingberg, husband of nearly 61 years. From then, she devoted her life to being a wife and mother and making a comfortable home for her family, including four children.
Mary Jane lived in Pennsylvania, Washington D.C., Virginia, Maryland, Southern California, New York, Northern California, Arizona (Tucson) and Colorado (Boulder) during her lifetime. In each state she made a loving comfortable home for her family and made many lasting friends. She and Eric relocated to Tucson after 35 years in Boulder where she spent her last year with her three oldest children and family.
She enjoyed traveling and visited Canada, Mexico, Europe, Scandinavia, and Hawaii. She enjoyed cruises and toured the Caribbean, Europe, Bermuda, Alaska and Mexico. She especially enjoyed the many weeks over a 20 year span vacationing with her family in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.
She is survived by:
Husband Eric R. Klingberg, Tucson, AZ.
Sister Louise Liott Gillen, Sterling, VA.
Son Daniel and Wife Cindy Klingberg, Tucson, AZ
Grand children Maddison and Eric, Tucson, AZ
Daughter Karen Verwiel and Husband Daniel, Tucson, AZ
Grand children Brian and Justin, Fullerton, CA.
Son David and Wife Kim Klingberg and her son Michael Cutshall, Tucson, AZ
Daughter Erica Klingberg, Westminster, CO.
And many Niece's and Nephews across the country.
Mary Jane was wonderful person. She was so full of life, humor, tenderness and love for everyone that she came in contact with. She will be sadly missed but never forgotten.
A private memorial service was held at her daughter's home in Tucson, Arizona for family members.
