Obituary of Jerome Raymond Bochenek

Jerome (Jerry) Bochenek, 76, of Tucson, Arizona, passed away on January 29, 2020, surrounded by his family after a valiant battle with prostate cancer. Jerry was born on November 14, 1943 to Joseph and Anna Bochenek in Chesnut Ridge, Pennsylvania. A couple of years after graduating from Redstone High School, he joined the US Army and served during the Vietnam era. Once he completed his time in the Army he went to the University of Arizona where he received a bachelor's degree in business. In 1972, he met the love of his life, Dora, and her three children Doreen, Debbie and Anthony who quickly became his own and raised them as such. Two years later they welcomed their daughter Aletha to complete their family. He was a force of nature, determined to provide for his family and give them the life he felt they all deserved. His family meant more to him than anything else in the world, something he often mentioned. Jerry's true passion, aside from his family, was playing and coaching softball. He played late into his life and also taught his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren the love of the game. He was perpetually proud of them all and always showed his love and support in any way he could. Anyone who knew Jerry knew that he was the most loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather a family could ask for. Jerry was predeceased by his parents Joseph and Anna; dearest brother of the late Roberta Hindelwicz, Valeria Loda, Wanda Kurtz, Veronica Havert, Joseph, Edward, and Walter. He is survived by his wife Dora, children Doreen (James) Rast, Debbie Parra, Anthony (Julie) Parra, and Aletha (Rich) Montague; his grandchildren Audra (Barclay), Dustin (Ysela), Tyler (Shelly), Hailey, Caitlyn, Lauren, and Joseph, and his great grandchildren, Rilynn, Ava, Penelope, June and Cash. Memorial services will be held February 11, 2020 at 10:00 am at Adair Funeral Homes, 8090 N. Northern Ave, 85704. A military tribute and burial of ashes will follow at 1:00 pm at Arizona Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 15950 N. Luckett, 85653
