Obituary of Duana Madsen
Duana's Life and Legacy:
Born, September 28, 1952 Provo, UT
Passed: January 12, 2020 Tucson, AZ
Age: 67
Born September 28, 1952, Duana was the youngest of 5 children (3 brothers and one sister). Her father, Spencer Duane Madsen, served in the Army as a chaplain and that provided for many worldwide experiences and travels in her youth. Her family settled in Mesa, AZ when she was about 16 years of age, and she graduated from Mesa High School in 1970. She often reminisced of her childhood experiences and shenanigans with her older brothers in Europe. She was devoted to showing her love or her family which included taking care of both her father and mother in their later years of life.
Duana had 4 children in her 20+ yr marriage and was a loving mother her entire life. More than one time, Duana made personal sacrifices to support her children. Her ingenuity and creative nature enabled Duana to always make the best of what she had - a trait she passed on to her children and grandchildren. Duana strove to be the best example she could for her children and that included never giving up on her desire to complete her college education. She completed her Business Management degree in 2007 at the age of 55 - showing that you should never stop pursuing your goals.
Duana was a devoted and active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and shared her beliefs and testimony with her family and friends. She is preceded into the next life by her parents as well as her eldest brother Duane. She is survived by her four children, Lynette Campbell, Christina Hales, Justin Mattix, and Angela Mattix, their respective spouses and 17 adoring grandchildren.
Duana's legacy is one of unconditional love for her family and Savior, Jesus Christ. Her spunk, spirit, and devotion will be missed by all who were blessed to know and love her.
We love you Mom and will miss you every day. Till we meet again!
