How dear was Joyce to our Theta group and to me. I didn't really get to know Joyce at Iowa State where we lived in the Theta house. I was so intimidated by this accomplished, beautiful, talented girl that I didn't approach her often. As years passed and the Thetas continued their yearly round robin letters, we all became closer friends. In the 80s we began to have reunions every few years. Through the many years our Thetas gathered, Joyce became a dear and valued friend. I am so sad that I will not hear her wonderful stories and her joyful laughter again in this world.
